A Tribute to Life
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
M
s. Brenda Loretta Herbin came into this world August 6, 1949, in Guilford County, North Carolina. She departed early one morning, September 27, 2002, from her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.She graduated from Dudley High School (Greensboro, NC) in 1967. After growing up in Holmes Grove United Methodist Church (Greensboro), Brenda became a dedicated member of New Light Baptist Church (Greensboro), where she was a member of the Cardes H. Brown Jr. Fellowship Choir, The Early Morning Choir and a member of the dramatic cast of the spiritual play, "No Room In The End." After moving to Charlotte in 1994, she became a dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she participated in The Gospel Choir and The Hymn Choir. Brenda was a praying woman who dearly loved her family and church.
Brenda enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, singing and listening to her gospel music. Brenda’s spontaneous humor and her entertaining genius have left endearing memories to us all.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Earline Herbin, her father, Vance Day, her grandmother, Zula McAdoo Herbin, and her brother, Richard Washington Herbin. She leaves her legacy of love and cherished memories to her brothers, Charles "PeeWee" Herbin (Greensboro) and Ralph "Skippy" Herbin (Charlotte), her lovable pet dog "Bootsy", and a host of other relatives and friends.
G
od saw you getting tiredAnd a cure was not to be;
So, He put His arms around you and
Whispered, "Come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away.
And, though, we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts
But He only takes the best.

TWO WINGS
"I want...
Two wings to veil my face,
Two wings to cover my feet,
Two wings to fly away to glory
So the world can't do me no harm

WHAT A FELLOWSHIP
What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
"Leaning, leaning,
Safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
Leaning on the everlasting arms."
0h how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
0h how bright the path grows from day to day
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
